The Board Bin was opened in a garage in 1988, making us the longest running snow and skateboard shop in the Northwest. We offer a great selection of snowboard gear, skate gear, clothes, shoes and accessories for men, women, and kids.

Thirty years ago with two snowboards and a few T-shirts we opened the Board Bin in a tiny garage in West Ketchum. With fantastic support of the community and great and loyal help from our employees we were able to grow the business to a place where we didn't have to work too many side jobs to support our family and also be able to keep our employees gainfully employed.

This past weekend we threw a street party to thank all the people who have supported the shop throughout the years and to raise money for a trust fund for the Ketchum Guy Coles Skate Park which from its’ beginning has been our pet project. It was amazing to see the community come together to enjoy some great fall weather, listen to some outstanding local musicians, bid on some original skateboard art created by talented local artists, and to watch or participate in the Skateboard Slalom or fun dog show.

On this high note we are excited to pass the Board Bin torch on to two of our employees, one present one past, David Kelso, who has worked at the Board Bin for 25 years and been the manager for nearly as long, is taking his sweat equity and partnering with Quinn Baser who spent the better part of his youth on our couch asking questions, and later working at the shop through high school and college before venturing out on his own into creative and marketing jobs in the action sports industry. The Board Bin is like a child to us and we believe having a local shop is important to the fabric of our community. We are excited to see the legacy of the Board Bin carry on in the hands of these great guys who will add new ideas and fresh energy while still keeping the identity and feel of the shop authentic.

We have been blessed with fantastic employees in Dave, Lydia and Kirsten who have worked at the Board Bin for cumulatively 60 years, and we want to see all of them reap the benefit of their hard work. In the next couple of weeks we will be having a huge inventory reduction sale with 100% of the sales going to our longtime employees who have dedicated years of their lives working at the Board Bin.

So come in the Board Bin and get some super savings on men's, women's and kid's clothing and snowboard gear. Everything must go and we will be marking things down to unbelievably low prices to clear out inventory to give Quinn and Dave a fresh start when they reopen in the following weeks.
