Jim & Karin, Owners

Favorite Run: Sleeping Bear
Boards They Ride: All of them right now

Jim and Karin are from two different worlds: Jim hails from New Hampshire and Karin from Germany. They met at a youth hostel in Boston in 1988 and after spending a few months on the east coast, they set out to travel cross country. Their car broke down in Yellowstone and, somewhat by accident, they landed in Ketchum. Unable to find affordable housing, they rented a garage and opened the Board Bin.  Thanks to the Board Bin Family, they were able to find a balance between the shop and spending time with their two boys.

David Kelso

Favorite Run: Broadway
Board He Rides: Gnu Müllair

If you've ever been to the Board Bin, you have without a doubt experienced David with his casual demeanor and witty dry sense of humor. He's been lacing up boots, assembling skateboards and outfitting customers in everything from boxers to splitboards for almost three decades. This native Idahoan is married with one son. Wisely, David believes empathy is the key to solving most of the world's troubles.

lydia Wills

Favorite Run: Cold Springs
Board She Rides: Gnu B-Nice

Lydia arrived in Ketchum from Washington's Olympic Peninsula just over 20 years ago and soon found herself working at the Board Bin. Lydia is the glue that holds the shop together, doing everything from inventory control to setting up customers on the latest demo gear. Aside from being extremely adept and talented at most everything, it's her optimism that sets her apart: "The difference between a flower and a weed is a judgment." When Lydia is not at the Bin, you can find her backpacking, backcountry archery hunting, hiking, and exploring trails on her KTM 300.

Kirsten Phillips

Favorite Run: Mid-River Run
Boards She Rides: Sims So Fun & Burton Storyboard

Kirsten moved up from Twin Falls close to 20 years ago, bringing with her a special magic from the Magic Valley. Kirsten's up-beat and pleasant attitude will make even the cloudiest days seem sunny.  Plus, she's really fun to ride snowboards with. Kirsten believes that nature is the best remedy for all that ails us, which explains why she and her husband often take their son camping and hiking to play in all the rivers and lakes that Idaho has to offer.
